My Wave isn't pairing!

Having trouble pairing your Wave to pair?

First, make sure your Wave is nearby and charged.

A common reason for pairing problems is that your Wave is already paired with another phone or tablet. If you’ve ever used the Wave app on another phone or tablet, try Step A.

Another common reason for pairing problems is that your phone has forgotten about your Wave. Try Step B to make your app find a new Wave device.

After a firmware update, your phone can sometimes have trouble bonding with your Wave, and it might tell you “Oops! Something went wrong.” Try Step C to clear out your Bluetooth settings.

Step A. Disconnect from other phones:
1. On the phone or tablet you are not currently using, open the EWave app.
2. Tap the icon for Settings.
3. Next to Device Pairing, tap UNPAIR.

4. Go back to the device you want to use and open the Embr Wave app. You should now be able to pair with your Wave!

If you’re still not able to pair, move on to Step B.

Step B. Pair a new device:
1. Open the Embr Wave app.
2. Tap the icon for Settings.
3. Tap Pair New Device (below Temp Mode toward the bottom of the screen):

4. Follow the prompts on the screen to pair your Wave. Make sure you see the green light pattern before tapping Confirm.

TIP: If you’re having trouble getting the green light pattern to appear, you can try pressing and holding both sides of the light bar with your thumbs for 4-5 seconds. Let go as soon as the green light pattern starts and then tap Confirm.

If you’re still not able to pair, move on to Step C.

Step C. Clear Bluetooth settings:
1. In your phone's Settings, forget the Wave from the Bluetooth list (instructions for iOS and Android).
2. Turn your Bluetooth off and back on a few times (in your phone's Settings, not in Control Center).
3. Proceed to Step B.
