Do I always need to be paired to the app or have my phone nearby when I'm using my Embr Wave?

You only need to be paired to the Embr Wave app while you're actively using the app itself. You do not need to be paired to the app or have your phone nearby to start a warming or cooling session or to adjust the temperature level.

To give some examples, you would need to be paired to the app when:

  • you want to switch to a different mode
  • you want to adjust the temperature level using the app instead of the light bar on your Wave
  • you want to select settings like Extra Heat or change your LED mode
  • you want to sync your device to check out your usage stats

Let’s say you open the app because you’d like to switch from Extended Mode to Fall Asleep Mode at bedtime. Once you’ve selected that mode, you can start your session (using either the light bar in the app or on your Wave) and then put your phone away!

You can start a new session, adjust your temperature level, or switch between cooling and warming just by using the light bar on your Embr Wave. You won’t need to open the app again until you want to do something like switch to a different mode or use the temperature dial.
